This picture came to me from Derek Holmes. He was a crewmember of the ship H. M .S. Vengeance. A Light Fleet aircraft carrier. She was on Arctic Trials with some other ships early in 1949.Derek says that he will remember it as some of the roughest weather in all his naval time, but the ice and the Aurora Borealis made it a trip never to be forgotten. The picture is from his personal collection and I am very happy to be able to share it with you.
